• Cut out and remove all soft, loose and rotten timber and ensure all dust is removed before applying any preparatory stabilising solutions or wood hardeners. Leave any prior treatments to cure as per manufacturer’s instructions.
• Ensure there is adequate ventilation when used indoors. It is recommended that small quantities be used at any one time to enable Roxil 2-Part Wood Filler to be applied before initial setting takes place. Mix a pea-sized amount of hardener with a golf ball-sized amount of filler. Mixing is best carriedout with a folding action. Ensure the base of the mixing board and spreader is scraped clear of filler during mixing to reduce the risk of uncured filler being applied to the repair. It is recommended that a small test area is treated for aesthetic acceptability before full application begins. Apply small amounts of filler first to ensure air is not trapped within the repair and then build up to larger volumes. Complete the repair by smoothing over the surface before leaving to cure, but leave sufficiently proud to allow for anysanding. Large repairs can be shuttered using flexible plastic, which may be removed after approximately 10 minutes of application to leave a smooth finish. Shaping of the filler should be done in the first 20 minutes before it hardens. After 30 minutes the filler will be hard enough to sand, plane, file, screw and nail. If applying a stain or varnish to the surface of the Roxil 2-Part Wood Filler it should be thoroughly sanded to allow the stain to penetrate.
