Lavender is deservedly popular and iconic for both its superb fragrance and beautiful flowers. This superb English variety cannot fail to impress with silvery foliage and spikes of beautiful flowers. Ideal in borders, herb gardens, containers or as part of a sensory garden.
- Plant position - Any location
- Any type of soil - Well drained
- Flowering period - Summer
- Dig soil improver in to the soil. Dig a hole twice as big as the pot, remove the pot from the rootball and place in the hole, ensuring the top of the plant roots is level with the soil surface. Backfill soil around the roots and water well
- Cut back the stalks after the flowers have faded. Carefully trim back foliage in April, taking care not to cut into old wood. Lavenders prefer to grow in soil that is low in nutrients, so only use high potash/low nitrogen feed
- Soil pH - Any
- H5 - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters (-15 to -10°C)
