Replacement for old Hotpoint
Bought this to replace 'old' Hotpoint cooker. If it's as good as the last will be worth it.

Had a similar model before but was disappointed to find this one didn't have a halogen hob which I used constantly. Also the off white colour was no longer available so settled for graphite. which looks OK. and matches the fridge. I don't have problems with the control markings but this is probably because I have had an earlier model, however it is a bit remiss of the manufacturers not to take this issue on board.

Very Disappointed in this cooker
I bought this cooker to replace a Hotpoint EW91 Halogen cooker that I bought at the end of December 2001. The EW91 was fabulous, very expensive and never let me down. Sadly, the grill stopped working, and so I decided to splash out on a new cooker. What a gross mistake.
The grill pan handle on the new cooker is a cheap bit of bent wire, that easily comes loose and makes using the grill pan, when loaded with food, very unstable. The rings seem to take forever to heat up, and the first time that I used the fan oven, it didn't heat up properly such that the casserole that I was heating through was cold. I had to transfer the casserole to the top oven, which took an age to heat up as well. The new cooker arrived with a blown oven bulb. Fortunately I had a spare. It might have been broken by the cavalier way the delivery persons handled it out of their van on the tail-lift! I did mention my concerns but it was dismissed.
The knobs are not very user friendly, as there is no indication of which ring is which, unless you read the small writing underneath each ring, for which I have to change to reading glasses. My last cooker had a small circle conveniently placed either to the left, right, top or bottom of each knob to indicate which one worked which ring.
When I discovered that the Fan oven was not working properly, I tried to get Hotpoint to answer their telephone. This was a very long-winded and ultimately fruitless waste of time. I had to resort to leaving a message for them on Facebook, something that I hate doing, before I got their attention. The message that I left on their website has been answered today with an automatic message back from them, a week after I first sent it. Customer service - I don't think so.
I am currently waiting for an engineer to come out and check over the cooker. Frankly, I don't like it, nor do I trust it. The cooker seems to have been made down to a price, but at £365 I don't personally consider it to be cheap.
I wish I had never bought this cooker, and that I had paid more for a much better model. Make sure that you check one out in the flesh, so to speak.
