How to use a pressure washer

How to use a pressure washer

A pressure washer can take the hard work out of a whole host of cleaning tasks by simply blasting out a jet of water to knock the dirt off any surface. Pressure washers use significantly less water than most garden hoses and can actually make cleaning pretty fun. There are all kinds of tasks that could be simplified by using a pressure washer but some of the most common things they can help with are below:

Lawnmower buying guide

A lawnmower is essential to help keep your lawn looking good all year round. But with so many options to choose from and so much technical talk, finding the right one can be challenging.

That's why we're here to help. We'll take you through the different types of lawnmower available, the power sources on offer and all the features to look out for to make mowing your lawn as easy and simple as possible. Before you begin

A few questions about how you’ll be using your mower can help narrow down your shopping options to find the perfect one.

How large is the lawn?

While smaller spaces are better suited to compact, lightweight mowers, larger gardens need a more durable and robust lawnmower. Greater power is needed to get around these broader lawns quickly and easily. Similarly, there are a number of innovative features that will help make even the toughest mowing job simple so look out for these.

Where will the lawnmower be stored?

Before deciding on the size of your lawnmower, think about both access and storage. Do you need to pass through gates in order to mow your back and front gardens? If so, be sure to measure these in advance of buying to avoid snapping up a model too big to fit through the doors. The same is true of where you'll be storing your lawnmower – make sure you can get it into your shed or garage, as well as having enough space to keep it out of the way.

How close is the lawn to a power source?

A power source close to your lawn gives you more options when it comes to your choice of lawnmower. However, don’t fret if your garden is very large or your lawn away from the power source – we have a wide range of mowers to suit every situation and size of garden.

Let's go through your options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good chainsaw, worked right out of the box. Worked straight from the box and cut a good sized tree trunk with no issues, Just add oil and fuel

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average chainsaw Out of the box this was incorrectly assembled. You are supposed to be able to pull the top guard backwards to allow the chain to rotate, but on mine the small link that pushes on the brake spring was waving about out of its casing. I had to disassemble the brake housing, remove the spring and reassemble. Rather annoying and disappointing. Having done that it was fine, although it seems to have a tendency to stop for no apparent reason and can then be hard to start. As another reviewer said, the drive sprocket area does tend to fill up with saw dust. Was pleasantly surprised to discover a bag for the chainsaw and a sharpening file in the box.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Chainless Won't be buying another one. Engine started and ran ok but chain wouldn't tension properly and kept coming off. A case of you get what you pay for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I will be getting something else....... The saw is ready assembled which is a bonus (provided it is correctly assembled of course). It started easily but had a defective chain brake which meant the chain did not go round. Returned for an exchange (no quibbles). Second unit worked ok but soon needed the chain tensioning. The tensioning screw is a flimsy affair and only worked once. The second time the chain started slipping, it wouldn't tighten (just keeps turning). Will be returning for a refund and will buy a more reputable brand next time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ermmm I brought this model recently, I went to chop some logs, it managed 2 fine, then the chain brake starting to pull the motor down, by the 7th it was locked solid and amazingly hot. I let it cool down and had a look, put it back together and tried it again, same result. I will be taking this back for a refund/exchange asap
