You can apply this woodstain from the Ronseal Woodland Colours range to rough sawn timber and smooth planed wood, including sheds, fences, trellis, garden furniture, planters, arches and any other garden softwood (not suitable for decking), using a brush, power or pump sprayer, to colour and provide protection against weathering. It takes 1 hour to dry and will cover up to 18 m² per litre on average.
Transform and protect your garden wood with Ronseal Woodland Colours. Inspired by the UK woodlands, each colour is wax enriched for maximum protection against water ingress. Ronseal support the Woodland Trust and 25p is donated for every tin sold.
This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint. Always check the coverage on the side of the tin before buying.
Walls almost always need some surface preparation before you can start painting. Even brand-new plaster needs sealing. You should fill any cracks and holes and make sure all surfaces are clean, smooth and dry. You can paint over emulsion-painted surfaces that are in good condition, but make certain you strip back or sand off any peeling paint.
If you're painting on bare wood, plaster or metal surfaces, you'll get a better result if you use a primer first. It provides a surface which the paint can bond to and stops the paint being absorbed. Find out more what you need and for what surface.
Finding the right combination of colours to match your home and personal taste is essential, but it can often feel like looking for a needle in a haystack.
