Hoods

Kitchen appliances

An extractor hood will help prevent the kitchen from steaming up as well as removing airborne grease and unwanted cooking smells.

Hoods come in many shapes and sizes ranging from discreet integrated hoods that subtly blend in with their surroundings, to the flamboyant designer hoods that are designed to be seen and admired.

Designer hoods

If you are looking for the ‘wow’ factor, just take a look at our collection of designer hoods. They have all been created to make a bold style statement in any kitchen.

Island hoods

An island hood is specially designed so it can to be viewed from any angle – a must if your hob is built into an island unit and you can see all the way around it.

Chimney hoods

Our range of chimney hoods come in many different shapes and sizes from a compact 60cm model right up to the widest 120cm hoods which make the perfect accessory for a range cooker.

Integrated hoods

An integrated hood is the most discreet option. It fits neatly behind a door panel that matches your kitchen style. You pull the panel out to operate the hood when you are cooking.

Conventional or visor hoods

A conventional hood (or visor hood) is usually fitted under a bridging unit so that it forms part of the run of wall units. These hoods are visible and are not concealed by any casing or door.

Extraction or recirculation – what’s the difference?

For extraction you will need a vent kit. Duct kits are also available if an extension is required See chart below for details. All hoods in our range are suitable for extraction or recirculation. Ducted extractors operate more efficiently than one that recirculates the air through a carbon filter but please note that ducting should be no more than 3 metres.

Extraction

Air extraction to outside

These vary from model to model. This is measured in cubic metres per hour (m3/h) and the higher the figure, the better the rate of extraction. All rates quoted are the ‘free blowing’ measurement. If the hood is sited close to an external wall, ducting can be installed to carry vapours away and release them into the air outside.
