Write a great review

Here are some tips for writing a great review and also some things you should avoid!

Tips for writing a great review
  • Please only review products that you actually own
  • Your review should be about the product, saying what you like or dislike about it and most importantly, why?
  • Be detailed and specific. Think about the product’s features, characteristics and performance. What would you have wanted to know before you purchased the product?
  • Please avoid talking about factors that are subject to change, eg price, special offers and promotions, so that your review will not become out of date
  • The best reviews are not too long and not too short – aim for between 70 and 300 words
  • Please follow standard etiquette when writing your review. Do not use all caps, excessive symbols or slang

Please note that we can not publish the following:

  • Inappropriate language. Please do not use profanities, racist or sexual slurs, prejudiced, libellous or unlawful comments, or terms of abuse
  • Data about any company or persons, including yourself. Please do not include names, telephone numbers, email address etc in your review.
  • Mentions of other companies or websites.
  • Non-original material. Please do not post quotes, links or text that you have not written. Similarly please do not include second-hand information in your review or hearsay.
  • Statements pertaining to delivery, availability or customer service. Please contact our Customer Service Team for issues of this nature. Our Rating & Reviews service is for feedback on the product only.
  • Reviews that do not comply with our review guidelines. B&Q will not edit words or phrases, therefore, any review containing the smallest amount of unacceptable content will not appear on the site.
