Making sustainable living simple
2012: We took to the UK's agricultural shows and helped visitors learn how to make a rain catcher, fix a dripping tap and bleed a radiator - as well as learn more about how to save energy at home. B&Q also gave away vegetable plants at the Big Jubilee Lunch at Greenwich.
2011: B&Q's Forest Friendly programme went to Kew Gardens where children learned more about the rainforests and why it is important to choose responsibly sourced timber.
2010: A giant topiary piggy bank welcomed visitors to Lancaster House garden where members of local B&Q stores talked to the public about saving money through sustainability. A trio of sheep showed how to take insulation to the loft and a shower spelled out how to save water at homeStart is a charitable initiative set up by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2010, with a mission to inspire people to start living more sustainably.
