Our schools programme aims to give young people the basic DIY and home improvment skills to fix and maintain things and have a home to be proud of.

B&Q is giving school children as young as five the chance to learn basic DIY skills in the classroom. Job Done! has been designed in conjunction with school teachers, students and parents with the aim to bring lost skills back to school children across the UK and Ireland and is now available to all school ages, from five through to 16.

The programme includes Health & Safety, Decorate it!, Build it!, Fix it!, Grow it! and Re-think it! with lesson plans, activity sheets and five interactive on-line games.

Secondary school students also have the opportunity to visit selected B&Q stores to complete the Decorate it! unit for real. If the class attends a session in store, all students will receive a special Job Done! apron and certificate. Bookings can be made via the Job Done! website for visits up until December 2011.

The programme is free and schools can register to take part at www.diyjobdone.com
