Scout Association

We have joined forces with The Scout Association to offer Beavers, Cubs & Scouts the chance to improve their DIY skills

Scout Association

In May 2011 we announced a partnership with the Scout Association. We are proud to sponsor the DIY activity badge for both the Cubs and Scouts.

We have created an activity based resource for Cubs which is available on the Scout Association's website Opens link in a new window. The resource enables them to achieve their Cub DIY Activity Badge and also gives leaders ideas for practical and fun activities for group sessions. We are currently working on the Scouts resource which will be available early 2012.

In addition to this, where our stores hold Kids Classes, part of our partnership allows Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to attend these classes for free. If you are a local scout group please contact your local store to find out where you can access this offer at a mutually convenient time.

Each of our stores should be supporting scouting groups through advice on projects and products and through our waste donation scheme.

14 – 18 May 2012 is Scouting Community Week

B&Q is the sole sponsor of this event. Come early next year you will find lots of information around this week on ways you can get involved.

Community Week is an initiative that sees Scouts fundraising by doing "One Thing" in their community. This might be decorating a community hall or gardening in a care home, might be beach cleaning – could be anything. B&Q stores will be supporting this event through our waste donation scheme and by giving advice to individual scouting groups who may request it.
