Electrolux, Zanussi-Electrolux, Tricity Bendix single built in ovens
Electrolux have informed B&Q of a potential safety issue with Electrolux, Zanussi-Electrolux, Tricity Bendix single built in ovens offered for sale between March 2007 and May 2008.
These products are not being recalled, however consumers are advised to contact the dedicated hotline on 0800 707 6258 or email safetynotice@electrolux.co.uk to organise a free-of-charge visit by a service engineer.

- What is the problem?
In the event of a food fire whilst grilling, there is a small risk that it could transfer to components above the grill section. The risk is extremely small, and it can be eliminated by ensuring any cooking is conducted with the oven door closed. We also recommend that you do not leave the appliance unattended when grilling. - How dangerous is it?
In the unlikely event of a fire occurring, it is normally contained within the appliance. However, it may in worst case, cause damage external to the appliance itself. - How many incidents have been logged with this fault?
Only 0.06% of 67000 appliances sold. Only 0.04% of these have been fires outside of the appliance - Can the customer still use their grill?
Yes, however customers must ensure that they use the grilling function with the door closed, in line with the manufacturer's instructions. - Can I still grill if I close my oven door?
Yes, if the appliance is used in line with the manufacturer's instructions of conducting all cooking functions with the oven door closed, it is safe to use. - What should people do?

Owners of the Electrolux, Zanussi-Electrolux and Tricity Bendix and single built in ovens must ensure that when they are using the grilling function, the oven door is CLOSED, in line with the manufacturer's instructions. Do NOT try to repair it yourself.

It has been brought to B&Q's attention that there has been instances where damage has caused deterioration of the timber frame. This may cause a weakness in the wood around the metal socket at the base of the hammock frame. This may lead to the hammock frame breaking whilst in use, resulting in injury to the user.
