Fight off the chill with our stylish outdoor heaters
Don’t let cooler weather keep you indoors – enjoy your outdoor space into the evening and after summer has ended with our garden heating range.
Soaking up the atmosphere of a real fire is a pleasure to be enjoyed whether entertaining friends and family or relaxing and unwinding alone in the garden. Offering both warmth and light, you can just sit back and watch the fire or roast marshmallow in the flames. We even offer options that come with grills if you want to use your garden heater for more adventurous outdoor cooking.
Let's take a look at your options.
Before you buy
Before buying your outdoor heater, there are a few things to think about first.
What sort of space do you want to heat?
Are you looking to create a cosy corner in your garden? Or would you prefer to have a larger group of people being warmed as if on a camping trip? Knowing the kind of experience you’re looking for will help you choose the right outdoor heating solution for you. We offer options that are smaller and more enclosed, so that you and a couple of friends can huddle together around it, as well as larger, more open types that remind you of a campfire.
What look do you want?
Whether you’re interested in a classic look, or if your style is more contemporary and edgy, we have something for you. From the traditional stove shape, to more open, brazier-style baskets, or modern designs.
Which material is right for you?
As well as styles for all, our range includes outdoor heating made from clay in warm, natural colours as well as stylish painted metal options. Not only will this help complete your look, it will also determine how much maintenance you’ll need to do, as well as where you store it.
For example, metal options allow you to start using your outdoor heater almost immediately, require little maintenance and can be stored outside (although we recommend protecting with a cover). While clay will require curing before use and cannot be kept outside during the harsh winter months.
Types of garden heating
There are a number of different types of outdoor heating to consider.
Made from either clay or metal, a chimenea is a freestanding oven with a chimney. They were first made in Mexico in the 17th century, where people used them to make bread.
A real feature for your garden, feed fuel into the front of your chimenea and then just sit back and enjoy the warmth alongside the flicker of the flame. Or why not roast marshmallows in them? Outdoor fun the whole family can enjoy.
Although they do come with a steel base and protective rain lid, we recommend that you store your chimenea out of the elements during periods of bad weather and the cold, wet, winter months.
If you’re looking for a traditional chimenea, choose one made from clay. Like the originals, ours are handmade before being painted by hand – ensuring that each one is unique.
Clay chimeneas are shaped in a mould by hand and then baked in a kiln. This process hardens the clay and prepares it for transportation and use. Clay chimeneas must be cured before they can be used. The curing process consists of putting around 5 centimetres (cm) of building sand in the bottom of it before lighting a small fire in the chimenea and allowing it to burn out slowly – this coats the interior with soot and seal the pores on the inside to reduce moisture ingress and cracking. Do this three times before using your chimenea.
Our clay chimeneas:
- have a textured surface
- come with a metal stand and rain lid
- require no assembly
A sturdier and more contemporary alternative to the decorative clay option, our metal chimeneas are handmade from cast iron and steel. They’re covered in powder coat paint, which can be reapplied in the future if it begins to look a bit tired.
Our metal chimeneas:
- have a matt surface
- come with a rain lid and tool
- can use either charcoal and wood or just wood as fuel
- can be used straight away – there’s no need to cure the chimenea before use
Firepits and fire bowls
Giving you a 360 degree view of the fire, firepits and fire bowls replicate that campfire feel by allowing all of your guests to sit around it. They're available in both traditional and contemporary styles, and some of our models come complete with chrome plated cooking grills, which allow for al fresco style cooking and dining.
Our firepits and fire bowls are raised off the ground to prevent damage to the surface below. We advise buying a protective cover if leaving it outside all year long.
Our firepits and fire bowls:
- are made from solid steel or clay
- have matt or textured surfaces
- are available in several different colours
- use charcoal and wood as fuel
- are available with a protective mesh lid
For smaller spaces, or if you just want a more decorative heating option, check out our gel burners. A stone or concrete bowl surrounds a stainless steel dish that you simply fill with fire gel and light for a touch of warmth in your garden. Place them on a sturdy table to create a feature when the sun goes down.
- are made from stainless steel and stone or concrete
- come in either white or rustic sand colour options
- are not waterproof and so will need to be stored indoors
