Why wait to insulate?

Together Logo

One quarter of the UK’s carbon footprint is generated by our homes, with the heat being lost through roofs and walls being capable of heating around three million homes for a year. Therefore loft insulation is one of the biggest single improvements that customers can make to the home to reduce emissions. B&Q is making it easy to plan and buy, affordable and easy to install, and understandable for everyone. If everyone insulated their lofts to the recommended level, it would save 4 million tonnes of CO2 a year – enough to fill the new Wembley stadium 500 times over. Most associate insulation with keeping warm in winter but it also helps to keep your house cool in summer so there’s never been a better time to insulate your loft.

Loft Insulation

With an on-line calculator to help you work out how much product you need, half price deals in store from 23 April until 7 June, a home delivery service from stores, and advice on how to install it at home, it’s never been easier to do and it could save up to £220 a year*. So why wait to insulate?

Many people are put off insulating their homes as they feel the hassle is too great. With a bit of time and energy, you can not only make money from the junk in your loft – enough to pay for the insulation - but can also do your bit for the environment. Lorne Spicer, from Cash in the Attic, shows us how.
