Perfect for planting in the autumn, this blend thrives even in the chilly winter weather, bursting into bloom by April and continuing to dazzle until July. The initial burst of colour comes from the Siberian wallflower and Californian poppy. Silene contributes a delicate pink hue, followed by forget-me-nots with their charming blue petals, and finally, the palette is completed with the warmer tones of coreopsis, dianthus, delphiniums, echinacea, and rudbeckia. Simply open the pack, scatter the seeds in your desired location, cover, and prepare for a breathtaking display! Each pack will be supplied in a box with a net weight of 200g, including 15g seeds plus vermiculite which acts as a 'carrier' to help ensure the seed is distributed evenly when sowing. Your shaker mixes will perform best in a sunny or lightly shaded position, in any type of soil as long as there is adequate drainage. Prepare the ground by clearing any stones and weeds. Lightly dig over to loosen soil and rake over. Give the box a good shake and scatter the contents at a rate of 25-30g/sq. m (approximately 8 tablespoons). Water the ground immediately. Sow mid-March to June or September to November. Flowers in summer from a spring sowing, or the following spring from an autumn sowing; annuals will flower in their first year and then self-seed for flowering in following years, perennials normally flower from year 2 onwards (some may flower in their first year if sown early).
