Good value, but.......

At the price I paid, this strimmer represents good value.
It's a little heavier than my previous strimmer but is of robust construction which will handle any home use for years to come.
But there are 2 points which let it down:
1. The Kill switch doesn't work on mine, straight out of the box brand new.
2. The 2 line/cutter spool I found to be fiddly to replace having just removed
it to reload as the 2 lines have a mind of their own. May be easier with practice
or smaller gauge line.
So reliable ......

I have been in the gardening business for 14 years and during the last few years I have bought this trimmer , bearing in mind this is for domestic use , I have used this trimmer at least 15 times per day 5 days per week for 6 months so far now and that is approximately 1800 times of starting and stopping and it has not let me down once , starting easily every time .....if it lasts 8 months I will be more than happy , therefore if you are using it for home use once or twice per week , I personally cannot see you will ever need to replace it , the strimmer head is also one of the simplest I have used , my only tip is to make sure all screws on the handle and shaft are checked as they occasionally vibrate loose , but this is expected if it is used constantly day in day out !!

The trimmer is great but it needs a wire trace on it for heavy work as the blade gets blunt to quick
Great Product. BUT.

I bought this to replace an old petrol strimmer. It has a much better clutch mechanism as the previous one would rotate as soon as it was started. This one doesn't rotate until the revs are higher enough so from a safety point of view its great. It also doesn't always smell of petrol as the fuel system is enclosed. However it has developed a fault where the switch that turns it off doesn't work so the only way to stop it is to use the choke. I have phoned the number in the manual and that doesn't exist any more and the number for B and Q informs you that the mailbox is full and call back later. Will probably have to go back to the store as it was only purchased about 3 weeks ago.
The best in its class........!

If you are maintaining a garden of your own or a jobbing gardener this machine is an absolute must for you. I bought mine 2 years ago in order that i had a small light trimmer for small garden maintenance, backing up my more powerful heavy duty machines. At the low price paid I expected it to last a few weeks before packing up. Not so! 2 years on and its not given me any trouble at all despite being used and abused weekly throughout the growing season. One of the machines biggest advantages over other makes in this class is that the cutting head can be tilted either way in order that lawn edges can be trimmed quickly and accurately after mowing.
The machine is easily assembled from the box, is of good build quality, well balanced in use and always starts from cold or hot second or third pull. It is also economical for a high revving small two-stroke.
The machine will comfortably cut small areas of long grass, it is perfect for trimming edges of lawns, along the base of fencelines, street furniture etc. etc. However, if you are looking for a machine to cut down larger areas of nettle & bramble, for example, then choose a more powerful professional machine!
Superb in every way when used in accordance with the build purpose - and if you read any negative reviews, believe me, they are wrong!!!
An excellent little machine.
