This hardy perennial, which was introduced to the world at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2012, differs from other Agapanthus, as it is compact. Evergreen, hardy, and low-growing, the green strap-like leaves with gold trimmings remain healthy through the year, while short stalks hold light blue flowers in May and June. Blooms are easily cut and included in a vase display – just be sure to plant plenty to share with your family and friends! In autumn, decorative seed heads emerge to produce a further layer of interest. For best impact on your garden, plant this Agapanthus en masse through a sunny bed or border, or by itself in a planter for a showpiece on the patio.
