Useful for odd jobs - here is my 'odd job' !

A light alloy rod, I formed it around a scaffold tube and the resulting spring shape sits inside my volvo turbocharger intake moulding, stopping it collapsing - the material 'de-natures' or gets soft with age and use, collapses, sucked shut when accelerating hard to overtake etc. Can't use thinner stuff as may not be strong enough and might move/bend into turbo unit 2" away. Cheaper and more convenient than new part.

What's your weird use for B&Q stuff?!
