I am a reasonably proficient plasterer and have never come across a product so bad it will neither stick where you place it or produce a smooth finish this is genuinely the worst product I have ever found -DO NOT BUY THIS

This product does not deserve the negative reviews it has received. If applied in layers and left enough time to dry (24hrs at 20C) it performs extremely well. It dries hard but remains easy to sand and does not shrink....5 stars.

Had a small patch of plasterboard to repair, didn't have any multi-finish knocking around so I bought this. Big mistake. Takes ages to go off, gave up in the end and I'm going to face it up with good old Polyfilla. But considering it's made by Artex, the company responsible for one of the greatest crimes perpetrated against interiors, I guess I should have known better. Truly awful product.
not good for deep fill

Easy to use, used to repair wall after removing skirting. Built up in layers for areas over 12mm deep but found it still took an age to go off, i.e. two days later still not gone off! Dug out some deep areas and used a different product. In all other less deep areas it has dried solid after 3 days. So if you are not in hurry this could be the product for you.
Artex ready mixed plaster disaster.

I purchased this product because it appeared to be exactly what I was looking for.
Artex is a well known brand, and B&Q who I bought it from are a long established business that I have come to trust. What then could possibly go wrong?
I read the instructions on the 6L tub. The damaged area of plaster was as required, dry, clean and free from loose particles. I applied a 12mm first layer, kneading it into the brickwork, then leaving it to dry out before putting on a finishing layer. I wasn't too impressed with the feel of the mixed plaster as it appeared quite grainy but I left it to dry anyway.
After a day it still wasn't hardening properly so I put an hair dryer to it and that seemed to help. It is summer and the air in the room is quite dry and warm, so I'm not sure why it was taking so long to set?
I returned to the repair after three days and it seemed to be O.K. now, so I proceeded to apply the finishing layer with a little more confidence.
I had just started when I saw that the under layer was stripping off and it was still soft. At this point I found some waste plaster that I'd discarded at the beginning of the job and it too is crumbly.
The wall that was previously water damaged has long been repaired at great cost and the damage has dried out. I followed the instructions on the tub to the letter and it has not worked, to the point that I will now have to dig out the whole lot one week after starting this work and try another product.
I thought this was going to be the solution to my problem but actually, it has merely added to the problem. A lost week, more work and I'm back to where I was, looking for a solution. I don't want to be negative, but I honestly cannot find anything positive to say about this product.
