Perlite is a natural soil mineral used to prevent water loss & soil compaction, use for seed starting, amending potting mixes & rooting cuttings.
Perlite has been heated at high temperature causing it to expand by up to 15 times. This creates a porous structure to store both air and water.
Create a 5% to 40% perlite mix when using with compost, peat moss or coir. Can be used at 75% to 100% mix when used for hydroponics or green roofs
It can also be used to break up compacted soils and to retain water in dry areas.
Dampen before use to reduce dust
