- Perlite is a natural soil mineral used to prevent water loss & soil compaction, use for seed starting, amending potting mixes & rooting cuttings.
- Perlite has been heated at high temperature causing it to expand by up to 15 times. This creates a porous structure to store both air and water.
- Create a 5% to 40% perlite mix when using with compost, peat moss or coir. Can be used at 75% to 100% mix when used for hydroponics or green roofs
- It can also be used to break up compacted soils and to retain water in dry areas.
- Dampen before use to reduce dust
