Ramsgate ram - 11 months ago

we just came back to find the immersion heater was left permanently on despite the segments being in the correct place to switch on three times a day, we wound the timer through 24 hours to check operation in timer mode and it failed to switch off the appliance.

Poor Design

I bought this 3 days ago, would not switch on due to timer segments not connecting with switch, this is because the timer face was slightly loose and segments were not reaching switch. I have solved this by putting a rubber pad in the centre of timer face and when plastic transparent cover is in place it stops any movement away from the body and it has worked since.

I wouldn't recomend it

I was sold this as an immersion heater timer. The minimum size flex for an immersion is 1.5 sq mm. The distance between the cord grip and the terminals is only 1/2 inch making it impossible to connect and fit the cord grips correctly when using this size cable when the timer is fixed to a wall.
The timer possibly works OK if you manage to get it connected.

Reflected its purpose

The first switch was faulty one terminal would not tighten down. The replacement was ok. It is however capacity wise far to big as it only controls a downlighter, smaller capacity switch does seem to be available

clear instructions and easy to install
