This product is badly designed

I bought one and fitted it with a large base, to remove it and change it would mean relaying the floor. To make it work I needed to cut 20mm off the internal drain section, and increase the slots in the inner basket as per photo. It still seals, it still works well as a rapid drain and it is very easy to clean, without the mods it is pretty useless. Just pure bad design.
Rubbish -more like low-flow waste

I bought this on advice from the B&Q assistant. Shower tray was fine as were all the other components but this is just not upto the mark in terms of handling the flow of water. I did a refit of my en-suite and now that it is all in, I have to pull the silver top off and the inner bucket in order to allow the water to go down otherwise it all backs up. The pipework handles as much as I throw at it and so its not the draininage pipe either. It was easy enough to install but really dissapointed now that its all in. I need to see if I can replace but its going to be hard now that everything is fitted in

Purchased with shower which has low level tray. Plumber fitted everything. All fine until took shower. Water would not go away and flooded the bathroom. Plumber tried everything and eventually came up with a modification which worked. Had we been forced to buy another waste it would have meant cutting a hole in the floor to remove. Would never ever buy again.
Does the top silver piece come off for cleaning ?

I've just had one of these fitted and want to take the top silver piece off to give the shower a proper clean.
Can anyone tell me how to do it?
