Pir failure after 4 months

I bought this light in January 2018, it was easy to fit and worked perfectly during severe cold and heavy rain. I was very please. However 14th April on the first bright sunny day the light was seen to turn on at 4pm, it started to flicker and do peculiar thing and eventually stayed on in full daylight. On turning off the power to reset the unit it turned on settled down and the turned off. It then activated at nightfall and remained illuminated permanently until daylight. It appears the PIR has failed, I have noticed that the PIR sensor has water in in it which looked like condensation. Also when the unit was working you could hear the PIR clicking when walking by even in daylight, this is nolonger the case. It is strange how it worked so well in inclement weather and then failed on a bright sunny day. I am taking it back to B&Q and will try again.
Waste of money

I bought 2 of these as a replacement for old halogen lights, as with other poor rating reviews they filled with water one flashed the other just burnt itself out, not even 4 months old, a lot of money for cheap tat, back to halogen for me my last 2 lasted about 10 years

It states it has a 12 meter detection range i have to be almost standing underneath it for the light to come on. Even after adjusting the sensor angle. If i had not thrown the boxes away i would have returned and brought cheap ones.
Easy to install, works a treat from the box.

I bought this to replace an old 150W tungsten flood light which was past its day.
It was an easy fit but you do need a decent electric hammer drill to cope with the rather large (10mm) plugs supplied. Gave me the chance to try out my Dewalt hammer drill I recently bought from B&Q, it coped easily into brick.
The instructions were easy to follow and the light worked first time. The settings out of the box were close enough so that only small adjustments were required.
The light it gives off has a slightly blue tinge but is bright and is a very adequate replacement for the old tungsten lamp so I am a very happy person.
This is going to save me a heap of money over the year and will pay for itself very quickly.
