Blooma Zinc-plated Brenton Steel Gate bolt, (L)152mm

Bought online in 2019 but only just got around to fitting new gate. As the new gate from B&Q is badly warped, I had to use different screws as one bolt is taking a lot of pressure and screws supplied wouldn't last long. It comes packed with plastic vacuum packed onto a cardboard backing and this stops everything rattling. If they sold it loose, I think everyone would just pick it up and put it back. Disappointing.

The bolt plate is made from painfully thin steel. The galvanising is poor, it was the best one in store. The included screws are suitable for installation into cheese, but nothing else. Once again B&Q have confirmed why I dislike going there. The best part of 8 quid, so it wasn't exactly cheap, I'll be replacing it with a decent one on Monday.

Flimsy, poorly made, poorly galvanised, expensive (for what it is) tat.

Complete and utter garbage, even if you have a busted one and need to replace it on a Saturday afternoon, prop a brick up against the gate and buy a decent one from another supplier of gate bolts. This will only disappoint you.

The finish is far from perfect but all necessary fitting were included and were easy to install. Not sure they would keep a determined thief out but with decent padlocks should act as a deterrent.

I bought this to satisfy the need to have something that would not fail me.
