Needed an angle grinder for general diy work and thought this was good vfm. Wanted a good brand name but a bit concerned by some of the poor reviews. Used it so far to cut down some very heavy 1/4 inch thick steel 1920’s clothes poles in a back garden. I bought some Bosch metal cutting discs and needn’t have worried - it cut through the poles like a knife through butter ! Very impressed with the performance of the machine. If I had a minor criticism it is that the operating switch is a bit awkward to use - would have preferred a trigger but all things considered it’s a good grinder which so far has performed really well - hopefully it will continue and as such I have no hesitation in recommending for diy use.

I was very impressed how good it was to use

great not to bulky realy fast spin up feels comfortable to hold has clean dust ingress system may be handy stop bits going around bearings brushes or armature could be improved if the disc spanner slotted down into the handle like my old stanley fatmax which gave up on me early days but looks the buisness for £40 no case but not a problem had one from previous grinder would buy another fatmax bosch has served me well think il stick with them only used the stanley 10 times max so if you want solid grinder at a budget buy one joe m ✌️✌️

Just the job

Chopped up a bike rack with this very easily. This product did the job and was easy to use.

Works fine, questionable build quality.

Adequate torque and small enough for sheet metal work / car restoration. The spindle lock button is well placed and the guard lock is easier to use than other designs.

Power switch is good for ambidextrous use but I've occasionally found that operating it with my thumb places my index finger extremely close to the disk and it has caught a glove fingertip before. Switch is also a real pain to use in MIG gloves as it's too narrow and the latch is fiddly to engage with big gloves on.

Annoyingly I removed the gear housing and found that there was no grease on the gears or spindle though (see image), which might explain the short lives some of the other reviewers have experienced. Poor effort Bosch.
