Seems good hinge, door action now
The door opens smoothly and rises nicely above the carpet now and gently closes automaticly. Also it can be lifted off the hinges which is very helpful. Thread on hinges seemed rather shallow and alternative screws used.

rising butt hinge
Unfortunately the hinges were not suitable as they increased the width of the door so that it would not shut. I took them back to the store and a helpful assistant found me an alternative hinge which works very well
