Easy to apply
Varnish went on easy and has a lovely satin finish, the only issue I had was that I had to buy a big tin as they do not do any smaller. I really didn't need a big tin

Not low traffic areas- no traffic areas
Applied this a week ago, followed all instructions on application, and it went on looked really good but after just one weekend it is scratched and scuffed which is impressive as we've been out most of the weekend. I would save money in the long run and get a recognised brand.

Never had a problem
I have used B&Qs own water based floor varnish over 15 years both in it's old form (B&Q own label in rectangular plastic tubs) and since they re-branded it in Colours range (and hiked the price as usual) and I have never had a problem with it. I have used it on hard (Oak and beech) and soft wood floors (pine) and had good usage out of it. I find the usefulness is its is quick drying (like anything though, be realistic, it takes a day or two to harden fully) and succesfully takes a quick coat to freshen up when it is worn down. (Great if you let a property and just need to freshen things up). I note other negative reviews and wonder if people know how to apply this sort of product properly, i.e. thin even coats and stick to recoating times - obviously air humidity can also greatly increase drying times so use common sense, for example allow longer on wet humid days than hot dry days.

Don't go near the Colours brand!!
Sorry, but this is a total waste of your time. See all of the other reviews about Colours products. It took 4 coats and it was still sticky to the touch, weeks after it should have been "dry" on pure, clean wood. Waste of my time and money. I gave up and went gloss with an International yacht product that did the business. One coat, clean as whistle and a superb finish to boot. That's all I wanted. Does what it said on the tin - and this doesn't!!

Only for areas of light use!
Most other floor varnishes are hard-wearing, for areas of heavy traffic, and the online description doesn't state that this is different. Only when it was deliverd and I could read the full description on the tin, did I discover that this varnish isn't hard-wearing and is only intended for light-use areas. Very disappointing.
