Colours Premium Charcoal Matt Emulsion paint 2.5L
This emulsion paint is suitable for ceilings, metal, walls & wood and covers up to 8.8m² per litre on average.
Features and Benefits
At B&Q we want you to be satisfied with your colour selection. Not all monitors will display colours the same and paint tins may not show the same colour as your walls do in natural light. We therefore recommend you order a tester pot online or pop in store to pick one up so you are sure that this is the right colour for you.
- Our toughest most versatile paint
- Great coverage in just one coat, saving you time and money
- We recommend using a one coat roller for optimal application
- For best results follow the instructions on the tin carefully, a second coat may be required if overpainting a darker colour with a lighter top coat
- Scrubbable for removing marks and dirt

Quite possibly the worst paint ... ever

Like so many customers, I wish I'd read the reviews first because everything other people have said is true. While one coat paints may be a dream, this stuff has taken four coats on top of two coats of undercoat and the finish is still patchy. It took three tubs to paint only two walls and one of those was only a small chimney breast. In addition, the coverage is attrocious, the paint lifts when rollering as though the paint is drying too quickly, and when cutting in, the finish is a different shade to the rest of the wall.
All in all it's been a costly and time consuming exercise to achieve anything like a decent finish. In the end, I had to go back to the store and raise a complaint because a one coat emulsion just shouldn't be this bad. I would argue that B & Q must already be aware that there is a problem with this paint because they raised no objections to my complaint and the staff seemed like they'd heard it all before. I've used other colours from this range without experiencing any problems, but this paint, although a lovely colour (assuming you have the will to see the job through to the end and don't change colours) is an absolute nightmare.
My advice would be to save yourself the time and money and buy something else. It really is quite possibly the worst paint I've ever used.
The Worst paint EVER

What a complete waste of time and money this paint is. 5L of paint on one wall and it's still patchy! There's no consistency in colour - expect to have darker edges where you cut in and patches where the roller crosses over during application and recoating! The company should action a product recall on this and refund everybody who has had the misfortune to purchase it, as it's quite simply NOT fit for purpose.
Lovely Colour but....

After buying a truly awful Crown paint last time, I tried this B&Q brand paint to see if it was any better. I accepted a long time ago that no paint is a 'one coat' and most need a couple of coats to get an even finish. So that said, it doesn't lift off if you go over it whilst it is drying (the Crown paint did). The colour is lovely and not too bad to apply. It was recommended for a hallway by a staff member in B&Q so I will see how it wears once I let my 2 hounds loose. . It can't be any worse than the Crown I used before.

When 2.5L ‘one coat’ doesn’t cover a small chimney breast you know you’ve made a bad decision!! Awful paint. I’ve used the whole tub - it’s still streaky and now I don’t have any paint left to make it right. Very disappointed and especially as touch ups would mean repainting the whole thing. Lovely colour though..... wish I’d read the reviews first

Thought i'd try the premium range as it is supposed to be a lot better for coverage, or so I was told, I have applied 4 coats of this and cannot get the same finish, don't bother touching up as it will dry a different shade. Hands down the worst paint I have worked with. That being said, I have used this brand in other colours and it has been okay. but this has turned a 2 hour job into almost 2 days.
