no fan - 2 months ago

Bought this because I only wanted a small tin. Great mistake. Watery, no coverage, no body to it at all. Barely acceptable as a watered down primer useless as undercoat. I shall return it tomorrow and hope to get my money back. i would give it no stars if that was an option.

Sheer and utter rubbish

Aghast of Aberdeenshire - 2 months ago

i was always a great fan of the old B&Q brand value primer and undercoat-the results were always superb. This was then replaced by Diall primer and undercoat which was an absolute diaster and which simply did/could not do the job.

Happily B&Q then re-introduced its value primer and u/c in white-labelled tins with black dots around the top and all was back to normal with the previously absolutely superb results.

On Monday I popped into B&Q Perth and was assured by the sales assistant that the new-look B&Q p and u/c brand was indeed the old product in a spruced-up tin- how absolutely untrue!!. After sanding down and then applying 4 yes 4 coats of it to an old brown-varnished door the finish was uneven with streaks and separation of the white pigment and the brown of the door still clearly visible. After applying 2 coats of B&Q Colours white paint over the four coats, various areas are still visibly showing through brown.

B&Q should not be selling this product and revert to its previously-excellent onet.

Just about off to sand down the door and get daughter to get Dulux or similar to restart the whole thing again.

Aghast of Aberdeenshire!

Absolutely rubbish

It is like painting with white coloured water. There is a severe lack of pigment and what there is settles back to the bottom of the tin within minutes. This is the worst product I have purchased.
