i have an opening of 79.5 x 30 these doors allow 6mm all around to be trimmed iso really this door should have fit pretty much straight from the package?
nope i had to remove 19mm from the top and bottom to get them to fit height ways that is 13mm more than the 6mm allowance so the veneer is gone from top and bottom ,thats fine you cant see the top or bottom .

Now the width is 762mm or 30 inch and as i mentioned at the start my opening is 30in so to get a nice equal 3mm gap down both sides i can remove 3mm from each edge of the door? Nope I have had to remove so much from both edges to make this fit there i no oak left and all you can see is the contiboard that the door is constructed from . No strength in the material to hold hinge screws so the holes had to be packed to stop the screws falling out.
I am now hunting the internet for an Oak veneer that I might be able to iron onto the door edge to at least try and make it look presentable

Keen DIYer & I fitted 2 of these doors downstairs. Really delighted with the look of the doors. Yes they are a veneer & the lipping on each edge is 6mm tbh if you have to remove more than that you're probably better going either for an imperial size door instead or going to a supplier who'll supply the doors with greater lipping 16mm each side appears the maximum available, however you will pay considerably more for those types of doors. Because they are a veneer a solvent based varnish is recommended but I used a water based varnish and the doors have retained their original patina & look excellent.

So happy with them I'm gonna order another 6 for the upstairs rooms also.

For me these doors are great value for money be aware despite what other folk are saying these are very solid heavy doors.

As another poster said make sure the chisels you use are nice & sharp which will make the preparation for hinges much easier & yes you will need 3 quality hinges for the doors as previously mentioned.

Fitted 2 of these for a customer who had previously purchased these. Sadly only 5mm lipping on edge before you hit the chipboard. Subsequently the hinges are screwed into the chipboard interior, not timber like other suppliers' doors of a same pattern. These doors look nice but are of a cheap quality and they cost more than other suppliers.
Not recommended.

This door is made up of 8mm or 10mm veneer on the sides of the door glued on to chipboard. The door only allows 4mm play on any side to be trimmed. So if your frame is over 10mm out you will expose the chip board in the door.

Good doors look very nice once treated.

We bought 11 of these doors to replace the panel doors we had. Now they are up and coated with Danish Oil they look great. However...
We had a workman booked to fit on Monday, the doors arrived as stated on the Friday before, but B&Q were let down by their delivery company. 8 of the doors were damaged when they arrived, having either been dropped or damaged by the retaining straps in the van and the straps wearing the door veneer away.
A quick call and I was talking to someone in customer services, who immediately and with no fuss reordered 8 doors for delivery the next Wednesday. We managed to work with those doors we had and salvaged 4 of the 8, so the replacement doors being delivered on Wednesday was not an issue.
A courtesy call from B&Q on Thursday was welcome to confirm the new doors were ok.
Have to say that B&Q's Aftercare Service here was first class, and the 4 stars reflects the overall experience and delivery aspect.
