Slower to apply than the Protector

The Ducksback Autumn Gold and the Preserver Golden Oak are almost the same colour, if you can't get one but can get the other. Slightly richer colour than the Preserver for a quarter of the price, however much slower application and doesn't go as far!

I looked at all the colours that Cuprinol have in their range. I decieded to take a chance with this one. The colour is different to what it looks on the tin, however it does become slightly darker once dried.
I still like this colour as it makes my garden feel brighter.
It was a very time consuming job to do on my own but it does what it says on the tin. The paint dried very quickly.
However it did take two coats to get the finish. The difficulty was the first coat which took a long time to do, but the second coat was so much quicker.
I would recommend this brand on paint for anyone thinking about adding some colour to their gardens.
The price I paid at B & Q was agreat value for my money.
Never use anything else

We have a lot of fences to painy and find that this gives the best coverage eady to use and dries very quick in case the weathet is uncertain. This year tried itin the sprayer . We used a bit more but saved time and better coverage than a brush. Might try the very sxpensive ducksback in the future when hsve more cash t

Whilst in the tin it looks bright orange, which clearly puts people off. Once dry, it goes a shade darker, to a more golden/burnt-orange. After several months it matures to a really beautiful colour that completely matches the description: 'Autumn Gold'. It is late October as I type this, and having recently applied it, I see the colour of this matched around me in falling leaves.
This was the choice of my sister-in-law to paint the frame of the 4mtr x 3mtr patio Canopy that I built for her this summer. This is how I know how beautiful this colour looks when matured for several months. The timber really contrasts nicely with the opal (white) Polycarbonate sheeting used for the roof, and all of the summer flowers around it. Much more interesting than boring old browns.
I was so impressed by the colour, I bought three, 5 ltr tins (on 3 for 2) to paint my own patio canopy that I am just completing right now (6mtrs x 4.5 mtrs, and curved!).
As for longevity, who knows... it's your typical water/wax-based stuff, as opposed to a varnish/stain. Absorbs/binds better to rough-sawn timber than into planed timber, and I'm sure will fade and wear like any similar waxy treatment. It does seem a cut above the quality of the Ronseal 'one coat' fence-life that we use on our fences, and harder wearing too, but then it's also twice the price!
