Love this fire

I am delighted to see that I can still buy this fire. I bought the one I have over 10 years ago. and it's been a great purchase. The coal holder has broken now and I was looking for another fire and was so pleased to see that I can still buy the Whitsbury.
Looks good in situ

Purchased this fire a month ago, it was easy to install and it is easy to operate. we have not had it any higher than the the one kilowatt and it heated the room very quickly, and most important my wife loves it.
Good looking fire

Excellent fire. Looks like the real thing. The heat is excellent.
No flame effect after 18 months.
Broken Fire - 3 years ago
Bought this fire 18 months ago & LED strip that lights up flames has stopped working & cost for a local engineer to come out & fix is more than half the cost of the original price of fire. The LED's are supposed to last the life of the fire! Very disappointed as fire looked so good when it was working. Fire has probably only been used a dozen times in 18 months. Shall be looking to replace with another make. Hopefully more reliable.
Second one I've owned

Had this fire at my previous house for 10+ years and was very happy with it. Having moved and inherited a coal fire hearth,we couldn't wait to get another Whitsbury. Imagine my delight when I found I no longer had to remove all the coals just to change a "Fireglow" bulb! This one has red LEDs. I was dubious as to whether it would fit the hearth without getting in the builders since B&Q do not provide full rear dimensions. I contacted Dimplex who sent me a PDF file detailing the installation sizes and it installed as easy as pie. No more tedious fire lighting or shovelling cinders or using the unsightly fire guard. We just switch on the "flickering flames" as the grandchildren put it, turn on the heat and set the inbuilt thermostat. Magic!
