Features and Benefits

At B&Q we want you to be satisfied with your colour selection. Not all monitors will display colours the same and paint tins may not show the same colour as your walls do in natural light. We therefore recommend you order a tester pot online or pop in store to pick one up so you are sure that this is the right colour for you.

  • Control air pollutants by choosing products with lower solvent levels

Dulux paints have been very poor for years. Having wasted weeks trying to get a decent finish indoors with One Coat, Endurance and normal paints which have no coverage and dry patchily with an interesting variety of finishes (satin, gloss and matt all from the same tin), I thought that I would threaten my sanity with the exterior stuff. The paint is so thin that several coats are needed to get any sort of even colour with the result that a tin is pushed to cover the oil tank that I am painting (which previous paints have covered with one third of the quantity). Now that it is on the paint changes colour in the wet and gradually returns to normal over the day - this results in an oil tank that is bi-colour halfway through the day. Last time that I buy Dulux (but then I keep saying that and trying again....mug).

Needs several coats

Wish I had read reviews. Entire day spent painting and repainting exterior door (previously stripped, primed and undercoated). Had to send hubby for second tin (20 mile round trip). I am an experienced painter and this paint provided really poor coverage. It was twenty quid a tin, so not cheap. The colour is lovely and after several, yes, really, several coats, it looks fine, but the extra labour involved and the frustration caused, made me one angry lady.

How many tins ?????

All I wanted to paint was a brand new wooden exterior door, the new door surrounds and the new weatherboards on a 3 ft porch.
Bearing in mind that all the items to be painted were primed and undercoated, I am now on my FOURTH tin. The coverage is atrocious - it is uneven, the paint is very hard to apply and, to be quite honest, I would describe it as not fit for purpose.
I chose the colour because it compliments the Cuprinol 'Sage' fence paint. I just wish I'd taken notice of the reviews here and used the fence paint on the door! It would've looked a darn sight better!!
I have written to Dulux, requesting a refund. This cannot be classed as exterior 'paint'. Thank god I didn't pay the extra to have the colour matched by hand!!!
Had to rate 1 star because there were no minus grades!

Poor coverage but I like the colour

I agree with the other comments re poor coverage. Have just used a whole 750ml pot on one partially glazed external door which needed three coats of this paint to achieve a decent finish (I had also applied an undercoat to the door before using this paint). This is expensive paint and hard work to apply. However, I like the colour and time will tell how hardwearing this paint is.

waste of money!

I needed to paint a new exterior door, so I primed it, undercoated it, and then started to apply this paint. I'm now about to start on the 3rd coat!! Coverage is unsatisfactory to say the least. Wish I had read the reviews first, then I would have chosen something else. The only good thing is that I like the colour! Dulux should offer a refund.
