Hot tub repair - 22 days ago

I am working on repairing the wood [cedar] cladding on a hot tub which after 15 years has developed some areas of wood rot. Without the multi tool the job would be impossible. The multi tool has allowed me to cut away the damaged sections and carefully get down to the "good" wood.
I bought the Erbauer after testing it out. The reasons are.
It is well made. I have the mini saw from the same company and was impressed by the build and robustness.
As well:
Easy no-tool change of blades. This is a big yes.
4 metres of electrical cable.
Good balance which means less fatigue.
A clearly visible speed dial. Other brands "hide" the dial on the side and they are more difficult to alter.
A sturdy container that should last years.
And the light at the front to see in the dark spaces.
There are projects that I now wish I had this then...sigh...

Really useful and comes with lots of tools

Bought this after my electrician leant me their's and haven't looked back. Makes life so much easier. It's easy to use and change tools. Has a number of tools included (which saves a lot in buying them separately). So far have cut skirting board, laminate, plasterboard and expanding foam and have sanded plaster and wood. Very pleased with the results.

Great bit of kit

Had a Bosch one which just stopped half way through a job, so needed one urgently. Saw this and read the reviews. Lived up to expectations, a great bit of kit and I’d say better than my last one. Highly recommended.

My wife is in love with it

I was told my wife would need this to do repairs at our business and renovating the bathroom...
Six months later and it's been used for sawing, grout removal, plumbing, carpentry, carving. hanging doors, cutting veneers, guttering, paint removal...
There is a real long list here.
I'm not saying that it does everything, because some projects need particular tools, but in all honesty this multi tool does a lot of them. What normally takes me an age to do with a hammer and chisel in fitting hinges took me two minutes with the multi tool and the wood blade. I even found out how to repair and sharpen the various blades after prolonged use blunted them. And when I discovered that it allowed you to work at awkward angles, life became so much easies working under the sink.
It may not be the best tool in the world, but it's in the top ten. Well worth investing in but do buy a spare set of blades at the same time. They don't last forever but it is worth it.

Well made and did a great job

I needed a multi-tool to modify skirting boards to fit some kitchen units. I would have bought a cordless but none available in time for the job. Bought this as a relatively cheap stop gap and was pleasantly surprised by how well it has performed - robust and did the job plus a number of others since so it will be staying in my tool bag. Variable speed is useful and the scraper blade has been useful for detatching timber glued to a wall. Adaptor for Bosch blades is a nice extra as Erbauer not always readily available
