Bought this yesterday at the Speke branch. I have a very old massive Beech tree in the garden with overhanging branches which cut out a lot of light. They were too high for a ladder but this tool reached them all. It really is very long and yet sturdy and not heavy. It was a doddle cutting through branches up to 1 inch thick. I didn't need to use the saw so can't comment. The difference in the light levels is amazing. This is quite a pricey tool but you really do get what you pay for. A fantastic tool!

Just got home with my Fiskars tree Lopper and went straight from my car to the offending tree. Me-3, Tree-nil. Or you could say: Tree nil to me! Will have a re-match any day. Try other Fiskars products too; they’re excellent value and available on line or in shop at all good retailers.

An absolute joy to use. I'm not frail but I'm not strong either and this pruner is so well balanced I had no trouble pruning trees or bushes where I have always had difficulty before. Bets £90 I have spent for ages, especially as the saw attachment is currently free. I have a feeling that my neighbours will be borrowing this as well.

Have to concur with other reviewers - this is a lovely bit of equipment. Needed to trim a mature tree which had grown around telephone wires and this made a job I was worried about very straight-forward. The lopper will easily go through anything up to 2cm - maybe a little more - and, with a little patience, the saw dealt with branches up to 12-15cm. With a reach of 4m, plus my 2m and then occasionally another metre or so on a step ladder, took off branches I thought were well beyond my means. Very well built and not heavy to handle considering the reach - well worth the money for the job it does.

CORD will BREAK if you PULL HARD too MANY TIMES

I bought my product (no saw) a few years ago. The usual problems of
anvil type prevail. Especially if you pull sideways (avoid). Now the
cord has broken (the blade was sticking shut for several months before
this happened so this could be a general warning sign that
something is not as it should be inside the pivot box and higher up).
Now I need to find a replacement cord as the manufacturer put a knot (to engage
with the hollow, orangey hand operated puller) in the one supplied
half way up, so although the cord stretches in time, it can't be
re-used in the vent of this type of failure as the knot-free length
would be too short (and I can't undo the knot - even if it were to
then be usable).
