Features and Benefits

Flymo’s most advanced and best hover mower ever made. It’s unique, patented DuoTech system allows it collects more grass, cut closer to the edges of your lawn and gives a better all-round finish. It makes mowing quicker and easier than ever before. This unique system allows you to move the UltraGlide in any direction and still collect the grass, unlike all other lawnmowers.

  • Designed for medium-large domestic lawns the Flymo UltraGlide is able to use its’ DuoTech system to allow users to mow over the edges of their lawn without losing the cushion of air required for the hover mower to operate
  • Comes fitted with a powerful 1800W motor and a 36cm metal cutting blade, which helps to cut the grass cleanly and prevents fraying and the yellowing of the grass tips, resulting in a much healthier looking lawn.
  • Offers four cutting heights ranging from 13mm-32mm, which are easily adjustable to your preference. There is no need to add or remove spacers, with one single lever to adjust located on the side of the machine, makes it quick, easy and convenient
  • With an integrated grass box and an easy fold down handle, the Flymo UltraGlide is easy and convenient to store. The grass collection box has an impressive capacity of 30L
  • Transport wheels located on the front of the lawnmower, which means it is easily transported to and from the lawn. The UltraGlide has a spring assisted ‘always ready’ handle that you just need to secure in the position which is right for you.
  • The grassbox is easy to remove and empty, and has a Vision Window, which allows you to see when the grass box is full

I have just returned this product . Yes it is light, but it throws grass everywhere at a guess 25 % finishes all over the place including over me !! not impressed at all . My old flymo was the bizz but the design of the new one required a we bit more thought.

Horrendous!!

I totally agree with the other negative comments. My lawn is hilly and big and it just about hovers with no grass in it and when the basket has just been emptied but nothing like previous fly mows I have used in the past. It certainly does not glide at all, very heavy it was like pushing a ton weight around the lawn. It seems to cut very low even on the highest setting, I have some new turf, which I started mowing on medium and it was almost down to the roots, so put it on high, but still low.
I had put a clean pair of shorts and tee shirt on, by the time i’d Finished I had be been sprayed in loose grass and dry dirt and was filthy!
I really can not see how they call it uktraglide as it really doesn’t do that.
On the plus side the lawn looked nice once done and the lawn mower looks nice and can be used straight out of the box and has a really useful fold over handle, but to be fair I felt shattered after i’d Used it, looks like I will have to go back to using my petrol mower!!

Don't bother

Having had a flymo for 10 years I dedcided to go top of the range with the same brand. Biggest mistake. Firstly this lawnmower cannot reverse. With a slightly odd shaped lawn this makes life very difficult. Also this lawn mower is so hard to manoeuvre pushing it takes a LOT of effort. By the end of it what should have been a pleasant experience turned into a painful one. If I wanted a workout I would have gone to the gym. The grass and dirt flys out the back and sides so if you’re thinking of purchasing this product make sure you wear goggles and some protection as this noisy monstrosity will definitely give you a beating. Having been super disappointed I missed my £50 original flymo and decided to call B&Q and ask them if it was possible to replace this lawnmower. I specifically told them that I had used it and wanted to make sure that this was ok before I lugged this beast to the store for a refund. The shop assistant faiza assured me this was ok but once I got to the store I was told as it was used I could no longer return it unless it was faulty. Wasted my money and time with this one.

DO NOT BUY

Non-hover mower!!

I bought this mower to replace a 24 year old Flymo Hover that was relatively light weight and easy to use but sadly broken - the motor died with a bang and a puff of smoke!!
This mower is heavier and more difficult to use particularly when you need to turn around at the end of the lawn, this is a bit of a struggle!! Carrying it from the shed to the lawn is awkward as it doesn't seem to balance well. The handle is not at the best angle especially going slightly uphill when it frequently digs in at the front. It has little wheels on the front but these do not seem to be much use either.
My lawn is not the best with a slight slope so I have always used hover mowers in the past but this is not a hover mower and it does not UltraGlide. There is very little lift given to the machine and it basically slides along which requires considerable pushing effort.
It is also more difficult to clean than previous models with its complex plastic casing and ducting.
However, on the plus side, it does cut the grass (and weeds in my case) very well indeed and its collection of the cuttings is the best I have ever had.
I am not sure if it will last 24 years like the previous model and because if its heavy handling I am not sure I want it to.
