Was very happy when we installed this fire as it looks lovely, however after a few years the fire failed to ignite. We had it serviced regularly, but our engineer said it would actually be cheaper to purchase a new fire then have this one repaired.
Love it, starting problems fixed.

Had our fire about 6 years and like it very much, still looks new, and warms the room really well at a very low, efficient cost.
We also developed a starting issue early on which can be solved really easily. The issue is simply that the starting gap is often too wide when leaving the factory. The starting gap is the distance between the little vertical peg and the angled sparking unit. Try closing the a gap little by little, until it starts first time. The fire can easily achieve 19 out of 20 first time starts to ignite the pilot flame. Obvious you need to wait for the vertical peg to glow red from being heated by the pilot flame before releasing.
I hope this simple adjustment will help you enjoy what is a great little fire.
Monet worst purchase ever

This fire looks lovely hanging on the wall. But after a few months as the other reviews say it is just about impossible to light. I am sitting here with a swollen wrist after having tried to light this fire all day ( i have given up).
It has the worst turn-on switch i have ever come across so awkward to use.
I would definately NOT recommend this fire to anyone and would advise them to go for a remote control fire.

AVOID at all costs. Even the gas fitters do not like this fire. We've had ours removed.
Cheap nasty fire

It takes an age to get a spark to light the fire after its been used for a several months.
The problem is a very cheap metal cam lifter, the cam lifts a plunger and then releases it so a spark can be generated. Unfortunately the cam is cheap soft metal and of a really bad design. Each time the fire is lit, the plunger scrapes past the cam as its released, resulting in the cam wearing out very quickly and not lifting the plunger high enough to generate the spark anymore.
Cheap rubbish, B and Q should drop this brand as its not upto the job, even though it looks very nice on the wall.
