Poor
This fire is a month old, and already the coals are sooting up, ive only had it on about three times, plus the coals wont stay in place and move forward. I want to return it, not worth the money

Great fire
I am very very pleased with this fire. The flames are realistic so much so that it is hard not to treat it like a 'proper' fire and throw bits and bobs onto it to burn! Visitors are impressed too.

Very Poor Fire
While fitting this fire the installer found part of the rear flue plate broke when he bent it in accordance with the fitting instructions. The coals have constantly rolled down from their seating on the the combustion matrix. The coals were also regularly sooting up after a few weeks. The final blow was when the combustion matrix broke down in several places and the manufacturer was out of stock of these. There own web site revue for this part listed a number of people who where asking when the matrix would be available. The fire is not yet two years old I wont have another focalpoint fire.

A cautionary tale
After reserving this item online and then collecting the item at the local store (which all went smoothly), I got home to discover the gas fire inside the sealed box was a used one. Additionally, I had ordered a chrome finish, but the finish on the one I received was brass. How a used gas fire can end up in the sealed box is beyond me, but how a new brass surround can be placed into a box which was clearly marked as chrome finish is a puzzle. So anyone planning to buy such items needs to check the items before leaving the store with them. In the end the store refunded my purchase with a "sorry, not sure how this could have happened!".
