Not worth it
Bought this in February and hasn't even lasted the season. The wood underneath is bowed and can't support the weight of the soil inside. I lined it too to avoid the base getting damp. I primed and painted to support with longevity but it's already failing. The wood is very rough as other reviews have said and probably wouldn't be much more effort to build one from scratch yourself. It definitely needs slats or some kind of support underneath which is incredibly tricky now it's been filled due to the weight. Definitely wouldn't recommend this.

Not fit for purpose - do not buy
As with other reviews, self assembly isn't easy when negotiating the roughness of the timber but the worst thing is that the flimsy base slats are not substantial enough to hold the weight of the soil in this "deep root" planter. 3 weeks since construction and the wood is bowed and about to break

Forest garden deep root wooden planter
Bought this item which is great . The only thing would be if the top frame is sanded down , as I work in caring the residents pick up splinter very quick....have to remove the splinter and they are not happy at that age. Hade to get sandpaper to try and remove the rough edges. But otherwise it is great

Had mine delivered today
Went together well no instructions as described but I didn't need them it took me 3 times longer to paint the preserver on, brought it for the wife's birthday as that's what she wanted fits well where I put it need to fill it now job for tomorrow I did line it as well to hopefully stop rotting setting in to quick just one niggle the timber is rough in places unlike the picture but I just nipped them off with a Stanley knife thumbs up though.

Poor quality and not even pre drilled
I had this delivered yesterday. It’s a collection of bits of very rough wood that you can’t pick up without getting splinters. It doesn’t just need basic assembly- it’s not even pre-drilled so that you know where the screws go. Not nearly worth the money. Certainly wouldn’t recommend.

Very Expensive
I could make one and sell for half the price with good quality recycled wood..

Great value product, better than the reviews
We ordered two different depth planters and are really happy with our purchases. A good price (£130 each), delivered promptly and were easy to build. The reviews appear to only be from people that have had a negative experience - all of our wood pieces were of a decent quality. That said, I would recommend that everyone thoroughly inspect the product they’ve received (with the willing to send it back if they’re unhappy). We never had that though, very satisfied with the wood quality.

Terrible quality
This arrived yesterday and I’m really surprised that B&Q are selling such a bad product. There are no instructions or predrilled holes, you really are just getting some screws and very cheap wood, and the rest is for you to figure out. Some of the planks weren’t cut properly (it looks like they were sawed through 80% then just ripped off so the edges are damaged) so make sure you have a saw to finish it off. I know it’s cheap for the size but, you’d expect more from the quality of products at B&Q.

Good product, rustic look
Good product and easy to assemble, design is rather rustic so don’t expect smooth finish

Disappointing quality
Very poorly built and finished, the wood is really rough and distorted, simple to build but needs a lot of trimming to make the joints fit and look OK The bottom did not fit and also needed a lot of cutting
