Good but takes ages to start.
Highland Warrior - 3 months ago
Used a few times but never got it to start first time. Floods very easily (followed instructions to the letter) and takes ages to dry out after removing spark plug.
Once running it cuts as well as my last S&P chainsaw (lasted 10 years)
First one failed, second one worked

I bought one of these on Saturday and it totally failed to start. Taking out the spark plug showed no fuel was getting into the cylinder so I took it back to B&Q who offered to exchange it for another one or give me my money back. They only had one other so I picked that up but noticed that the B&Q seals were broken. The lady on the desk then removed the anti theft and opened the box, wereupon we found that it contained only an engine unit and nothing else. So, with her approval, I took the chain and bar off the one that did not work and put it with the new unit. On assembly at home, this unit worked OK.
Compared to the FPCSP38 that I had before, which worked fine for 2 years until it died, it has a much better ignition switch, a much better chain adjustment mechanism and more power. I have yet to use it in anger but hope it will be as faithful as its predecessor
Was good at first

Worked well the first few times I used it. Then It seemed like the chain couldn't be tightened. I took it to a repair place and guy took it apart and showed me the cog inside that was knackered, which was why the chain couldn't be tightened. They were also unable to get any parts from any of their suppliers.
So If you're planning on using it for more than a couple of times....spend a bit more.
Amazing ‘at first’.

The saw worked amazing for about the first 5hrs of use. After that it became very blunt and seems to be spraying out excessive amounts of chain oil. Can’t find a replacement chain yet...
