How to use a pressure washer

How to use a pressure washer

A pressure washer can take the hard work out of a whole host of cleaning tasks by simply blasting out a jet of water to knock the dirt off any surface. Pressure washers use significantly less water than most garden hoses and can actually make cleaning pretty fun. There are all kinds of tasks that could be simplified by using a pressure washer but some of the most common things they can help with are below:

"Mac Allister 1600W Rotary Lawnmower"

Before you begin

A few questions about how you’ll be using your mower can help narrow down your shopping options to find the perfect one.

How large is the lawn?

Smaller spaces are better suited to compact, lightweight mowers. While larger gardens need a more durable and robust lawnmower with greater power and a larger cutting width. The cutting width is the size of the blade – the wider the blade, the wider the strip of grass it will cut. Look out for innovative features that will help make even the toughest mowing job simple.

Where will the lawnmower be stored?

Think about garden access and storage. Do you need to pass through gates to mow your back and front gardens? If so, be sure to measure these in advance of buying to avoid getting a model too big to fit through the doors. Consider storage – make sure you can get it into your shed or garage, as well as having enough space to keep it out of the way.

How close is the lawn to a power source?

A power source close to your lawn gives you more options when it comes to your choice of lawnmower. However, don’t fret if your garden is very large or your lawn is away from the power source – we have a wide range of mowers to suit every situation and size of garden.

Let's go through your options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bargain! I bought this chainsaw for work as I am a gardener and was finding I needed a chainsaw more and more often. I wasn't expecting too much of this chainsaw as it is literally the cheapest petrol chainsaw available and off it lasted on way job I wouldn't have been surprised. However, it flew through the first job I did with it and has kept on going strong! Very powerful and a good standard chain, it has completely surpassed any expectations I had and I am over the moon with the saving I have made! After all, the chainsaw I was recommended by everyone (I won't name it but it is orange and white) was £400 more than This one and the only difference I can feel when operating it is that the big Brand saw was a little lighter! When This saw dies il be getting another one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good chainsaw. Have been using this chainsaw for a couple of weeks now and find it reliable and powerful . Did manage to flood it once by forgetting to turn it on and the cranking with the choke out. Took the plug out and cleaned it and away it went again. Good buy. Can't go wrong at the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from super value Too cheap to pass up, definitely worth the try I thought. Used in anger to fell some Ash on our site and I'm well impressed, plenty of power and a nice sharp chain. I can understand tho why some people have difficulties starting it- the choke is really more of a primer. As soon as the engine tries to fire with the choke out, push it in and try again. Simples!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value for money I had never used a chainsaw before until I purchased this product. The gentleman helper at the Washington, Tyne & Wear shop advised me on use and oils. Following his advice and the instructions provided, plus a little YouTube time, I have enjoyed 6 months of excellent pleasure. I fail to understand the starting problems other reviews mention, perhaps these people should stick to indoor activities. Follow the instructions and enjoy the most stress relieving power tool activity you can get involved in. Purchase a splitting axe and take the stress relieving activity to another level. This chainsaw ticks all the boxes, well done B&Q.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic for the price With the low price tag I thought it wouldn't be up to much but bought it anyway, I'm glad I did! Took longer to fill up with fuel and chain oil than it did to start, felled loads of trees and chopped them for fire wood and it hasn't missed a beat,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Bought this with fairly low expectations. The trick is to start it for the first time! It doesn't have a manual fuel primer. You just need to be patent and pop the choke in if you flood the engine. Once its going you'll have no problems cutting lots of timber. I cut loads of Ash and it didnt miss a beat. The bar is a decent length and it has enough power with the 50cc engine. If you have trouble starting it for the first time just be patent and try not to flood the engine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Much better than its price... Bought this instead of a new 20" Oregon chain and bar for my Husqvarna, which would have cost about £50. The idea was I may as well pay £15 extra and get a backup chainsaw. As it turns out, this chainsaw isn't bad at all. Used it to fell and log half a dozen fairly large trees these last two weeks without problems. As far as starting it, it's just a matter of knowing how to use a manual choke. The only negatives I found so far were: the spark plug was overtightened from the factory, took quite so force to loosen it up the first time - which you need to do if you flood the engine and don't want to wait too long to get it going again - and the chain tensioner appeared to be somewhat unreliable until taken apart and greased. All good now. Overall, great value for money

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value for money I got one today. It was the last one in that store. All I can say is if you know how to start a 2 strioke it will start no bother. From new. Fill it up, flick the on switch, pull 4 or 5 times until it makes a dull note, then pull out the choke and pull another 4 or 5 times until it makes a failed start noise, then push in the choke, pull stick you're foot on the handle to hold open the throttle and it should start with 3 or 4 pulls. I had no trouble starting this machine and it seems pretty solid for a non branded machine. Just did a ton of logs with it and it was sound. I was impressed.
