Laminate flooring for the novice DIYer

Great price, easily laid as long as floor is level and it is fitted the right way round, just push long edge in at a 45 degree angle and push down (gently) on the previous length. You can absolutely fly through laying this. Looks amazing and no gaps or temper tantrums. You will get some transport damage but they're used on off cuts. Would definitely recommend.
Difficult flooring to use

Having laid a considerable amount of laminated flooring (mostly from B & Q) over a good few years I read the reviews and had doubts about this flooring, but I was doing the job for a friend who had decided this was what she wanted. I have laid 20 sqM and the issues I came across are as follows:-
Difficulty getting short edges to click into place.
Edges can be easily damaged if force is used (has to be on short edges)
A number of boards were not straight and forcing them to fit only causes problems elsewhere.
Takes much longer to fit than expected.
On the plus side it does look very nice when down but I would not recommend, and unfortunately I have another 20 sqM still to fit.
Easy to lay, decent quality

Pretty good flooring that is easy to fit with minimal issues. A couple of boards had slight damage from transit but we used these for offcuts.
I see a lot of reviews blaming the flooring for a bad finish but if your base is levelled (use some SLC) and you keep the interlocking sections of the panels free from debris when fitting, this goes down flush with no bother.
So, so bad.

Boards not straight, very weak boards, chips gaps.
I have fitted several floors before and have never had a problem. This is really testing me. Truly awful stuff. The first row I fitted looked flat. After fitting 3 more rows one of the boards started lifting. The clip system had broken so I had to lift all the boards to repair. Lifting some of the other boards caused the clip system to break on some of the other planks.
A job that should take a day and 16 packs has taken 3 days and 20 packs.
Awful, stressful, wasteful, garbage. Waste of money. Should have bought better quality. Should have known better.
Easy to lay, looks great, lasts well

I fitted this 2 years ago in a holiday chalet that is let out. It was easy to lay, no problems at all with the joints. Despite heavy usage it still looks like new with no chips etc. I'd laid laminate quite a few times before and am guessing the bad reviews are from people who aren't very experienced, because this is one of the best looking finishes.
