Worst edger I've used
ChrisC145 - 1 month ago
I get that there is a skill to not overloading the edger with paint. I get that there is a skill to not pushing down too hard with the edger. But this thing is a nightmare if you do either of the above. I've used plenty of different edgers before and this is the only one I've ever had where the pad falls out (many times) and where it moves making it either push hard up against the wall you don't want to paint or leaves such a big gap that you may as well have used a brush. There are better edgers out there like Shurline.
Brilliant piece of equipment

I don’t know why this has so many bad reviews (I lie, I do, cockhandedness). Everyone who has come to our house With an interest in interiors comments on house straight and clean my cutting in is. There is a nack to using it. 1. Don’t overload the pad; drag the paint lightly on the opposite side you want to use for the straight edge or you’ll squelch it onto the ceiling or skirting. 2. Use it one direction only, don’t drag it back over the paint. 3. Don’t push it really hard when you’re a beginner user, it’s like anything, it takes practice. 4. When you pad is oversaturated you’re going to have to change it for a new one or wash it and let it dry before starting again.
It doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling (or you’d end up squelching paint on the ceiling too - paint a tide line of ceiling paint along the join before you start for a crisp edge) and it won’t do corners so use a small flat edge artists brush. I hope that is useful to anyone who is put off by the bad reviews. This tiny piece of design is so clever and so useful.

Bought this to do cutting in between wall and ceiling as well as corners and it is terrible. The pad keeps popping out of the plastic holder to the point you either are catching it mid-flight before it falls on the floor or it sticks on the wall when you pull the plastic holder away. Very messy and paint everywhere. Avoid.
Very good product

If I could have given this a no star rating I would - just read other reviews and agree this is useless, as previous reviews state the pad keeps jumping off, very frustrating back to using a brush and roller. Will never purchase another.
