Spot On...
DIY Bill - 4 years ago
I bought this to saw through stubborn toilet screws holding the loo to the floor, over time these had corroded, and there was no way of getting any purchase on the little swines... so, i decided to cut them, gave the loo a wiggle to free up a couple of mil, slipped this saw underneath and hey presto... made light work of the 4 screws... dont know why its received such negative reviews, it was spot on for me, blade still nice and sharp... 5 stars
Better than the reviews suggest

I was extremely reluctant to purchase this hacksaw after reading 5 extremely negative reviews. However, I had a small awkward job to do, and none of the bigger more expensive hacksaws were going to work. It was either this or one of the junior hacksaws that look even flimsier and have equally bad reviews.
The mini hacksaw worked perfectly. No problems at all. The blade stayed secure, and was sufficiently sharp to cut through the relatively small amount of metal that I needed. I don't know if it would last, but worked fine for me!

Absolute rubbish; tightened the screw to hold the blade in place and the frame the opposite side sheared off while attempting to saw a "plastic" rod. Took it back, refunded with another, same thing happened but this time I'd misplaced the receipt 8(
As someone else has already stated, the only fitting place for this item is the bin; where mine eventually ended up.
Useless - but can be modified

Bought this as I needed a cheap hacksaw to do an emergency job. As per the other reviews, it was utterly useless as the screw does not tighten enough to hold the blade in place. Result - the blade immediately fell out as soon as I tried to make a cut. In its original state it is not fit for purpose and I do not know how this was ever deemed fit for sale. HOWEVER, I modified this saw by simply drilling a hole through the blade and passing the screw through that - it now holds in place as tight as paint and has become a really useful tool for sawing in very confined spaces.
Waste of a tenner.

Biggest load of rubbish I've ever bought. Screw is not man enough to close the gap and if you tighten too hard it strips the screw. It is now in the bin. Not fit for purpose.
