Bad design

Purchased for some kitchen fitting. The Router appears well made and operates well, but is badly designed. The right hand grip is sloped back towards the router body so that anyone with a large thumb cannot reach the safety lock. I can only operate it by using my index finger from the reverse side and rotating my hand around the grip.
The companion kitchen router set includes a biscuit cutter which is equally badly designed. The shank is not long enough to reach the center of a work top and the shank diameter is the same as the support bearing leaving marks on the wood.

Great for the money!

I bought this as I needed to cut some kitchen worktops and didn’t want to spend a small fortune on a bigger name.
I added kitchen worktop blades and found this router very sturdy and more than capable of the job!

Looked extensively at routers twice the price to replace my previous router (cheap and nasty) This unit rugged and smooth to operate on initial trials. Would benefit from carry case, but other than that, happy with purchase. 3 Year warranty so take some reassurance in that.

Great router, but one fatal flaw

I bought this router for my kitchen installation, i.e. trimming laminate, end panels, worktop, etc. It proved to be very good at the job (especially mitring worktop) and more than powerful at 2100w. The plunge mechanism is smooth. There's a handy locking button for removing the bit. It came with a 30mm bush. No case though.

However I was disappointed and returned it because very soon on the wing nut to hold the depth gauge in place failed to stay in place - I think the the thread on this got stripped and this was only through manual tightening. I may have got a duff but I think it was more to poor design as the wing nut thread is very short and therefore minimal leeway for any wear and tear.

Heavy and difficult to use

The tool is heavy but performs adequately. However, there is insufficient room to operate the trigger lock with the thumb and you have to reach around with the index finger to operate it which is an unnatural manoeuvre. This poor piece of design mars what could be quite a reasonable tool.
