failed after two years very little use

Bought it two years ago in BandQ Cork. Used it 4 or five time to cut mainly light stuff. Not much work at all. Good when it was running even if it was a pain to get the chain oil into the filler. The air wants to bubble out as oil goes in. Bought two new chains yesterday in B&Q Cork. Started it up today and the motor overheated within five minutes. Pretty well Caput I think-- that nasty burning smell and lots of arcing round the commutator and the brushes seem to have chipped or disintegrated or burned away. Anyone want two brand new chains for a mcAllister mcswp2000S?
Carbon brushes wore out. Less than 2hrs work.

Have used this saw for a little work on a few railway sleepers and a few other little bits. Started to chop up 4 wooden pallets today and the 1 carbon brush shattered and the other is nearly worn down. Really? I don't think I have had 2hrs work out of it yet. Otherwise the saw seemed pretty good....Sigh
waste of money

Purchased this to cut logs up to 6/10 inch OD in the garden. Lasted approx one season before main nylon drive cog wore flat (Why they chose nylon and not metal is beyond me). Now now need to find a replacement, but reading other comments I do not feel hopeful.
Brilliant idea and cost effective

I bought this when it was on offer. Easy to assemble if you think it through. No tools required to change chain. Be very careful with it because the cutting surface is on the outside of the chain which makes it very vulnerable but compare that to hours of filing with a tiny file or paying a tenner to get it done . Make sure its full of oil and
watch out for the low oil warning light. Do not press in hard and it will cut for hours.
Easier to use a bread knife
