This MacAllister impact shredder is fast and powerful, ideal for all green, soft and woody garden waste such as hedge trimmings. The mulch that the shredder produces can be used for composting or if spread on borders & plant pots, will reduce weed growth, return nutrients to the soil and help to keep moisture in during times of drought

Store the product and its accessories in a dark, dry, frost-free, well-ventilated place; 4. Always store the product in a place that is inaccessible to children. The ideal storage temperature is between 10 °C and 30 °C; 5. We recommend using the original package for storage or covering the product with a suitable cloth or enclosure to protect it against dust

Great item
Great gadget especially for the price - managed to shred all conifer hedge cuttings, Laurel hedge and the smaller branches off my walnut tree.

Just what I needed.
I purchased this Mac Allister Mis2400 Corded 80Kg/hr 2400W Impact Shredder after moving into a new house with an overgrown garden. The shredder has so far reduced grass plants, brambles, ivy and conifer small branches and leaves to minimum mass which is necessary with garden waste collections only every fortnight. I have had only a few blockages which were easy to resolve. Keeping the outfeed clear definitely helps reduce blockages. I would recommend it.

Failed after 20 minutes!
I purchased this garden shredder in September last year, but at the time I then got admitted to hospital and once I came out I hadn't had the chance to use it until after the winter until now. I unboxed it a few days ago, when I used it for the first time, but being a novice user to a shredder, I used it carefully and slowly without forcing it in any way with small dry twigs. It wasn't long before the motor stopped, so I restarted it and it cut out again shortly afterwards, so again I tried restarting it and it kept on cutting out. The bag which contains the chippings was only about an 1/8th full so I hadn't been using it very long at all (about 20 mins), before I started having problems with it. Wondering whether it had overheated I left it overnight and tried to start it the following day but it did not restart. I checked to see if anything was clogging the blade but that turns freely. Presently, I'm disappointed with the item and because of the delay on using it after purchase I can't return it, and have to now contact the manufacturer to claim under the warranty, but I don't have the confidence that it's fit for its purpose, so even if it's repaired or replaced for a new one, I'm stuck with it. I now wish that I'd paid slightly more for a different make. It wasn't that long ago that I purchased a Macalister strimmer and I've been as pleased as punch with it, and it was mainly because of that, that I thought I'd buy their shredder, but this quickly proved to be disappointing. So, now for the warranty hassle!

Overall poor
So, I purchased this product as a replacement garden shredder, it isn't really fit for purpose. It spat pieces of plastic out from the internal guard and another piece from the outer case. It jams easily and it can be difficult to clear said jam. The shredded material varies in size and can be quite large. Whilst the product is easy to assemble and use, I can't recommend this product.

Mac Allister Garden shredder
Purchased this shredder a little while back and it performed beautifully, sometimes needs de-clogging but that depends what goes through it, green leaves on branches will induce clogging but it's no major issue, save me loads of time and handled everything I threw at it, upto about 40mm diameter. When declogging makes sure you disconnect from the mains, these things are vicious don't take risks.

Great shredder for hedge / small trees
Really useful. Managed most all the cuttings from the hedges. The larger tree branches didn't fit, but this was expected.
