As good as any grout I've used
Tzimi - 15 days ago
I used this grout for the shower/bath area of my bathroom, and it seems fine. I usually make up small batches at a time, as you don't want it going off half-way through the process! The grout filled the gaps easily, but I needed to be quick, as it did start to go off sooner than expected- in fact, it was starting to be quite tenacious half-way through sponging. It's easy to shape using a sponge, and get the bead size that you want. As others have said, it is a bit coarse when it dries, and the finish is a bit rough, but I don't think that detracts from the quality, in fact it gives it a rustic look. It looks good to me, and it seems very tough once dry. The colour seems to me to be as white as any other grout, but it probably varies a bit from batch to batch. When dry, the powdery residue is a bit hard to remove, especially from matt-finish porcelain mosaic tiles, and it needs quite a bit of scrubbing! Maybe I should try a mechanical polisher? Overall, I'm very happy with this grout, and it seems to have provided a tough, durable finish. It's a little on the pricey side, but it does seem to be a good quality product.
A very poor product

I brought this product to complete a tiling job I was doing. Having previously purchased another brand for the bathroom, when it came to the utility room I could not find this brand so ended up purchasing this product from Mapei. From the moment I prepared my first mix I realised just how gritty (cheap ingredients) this product was and no matter how it was applied and smoothed out it has a very rough finish when it dries out. This will only help attracted dirt, grime and mold during use and is probably the underlying course behind the previous review. The gritty material used makes the end product porous. It also does not give a true white finish (cheap ingredients) when the product dries. If this was a cheap product then I'd say you get what you paid for, but it's not. B&Q do sell cheaper brands and they are all a better product than this one.
Do not use this in Bath or shower areas

I bought this grout and used it it for the tiles in my shower after a few months I noticed that the plasterboard to the side of the shower was getting damp under further investigation I then noticed that the plaster board on the walls behind the tiles are soaking wet due to the grout not being waterproof. I contacted the company and was told that this is only waterproof if used in a bathroom that is fully tanked and waterproofed before the tiles go on others is no mention of this on any of the packaging). I now have to either dig out and regrout or re-tile the whole area
Very good product

I used one and a half, 5Kg bags on 4 fully tiled walls in my bathroom, including shower compartment. Stick to the instructions for mixing. If extra water is needed add only a tiny bit at a time, thoroughly mixing each time as it's easy to over do it. I found that the mix stayed workable for longer than stated on the pack but only mix what you can use and finish in an hour. It adheres well and sets to a hard durable surface that gives me more confidence than other grouts I have used. As previous review, be careful that you get the colour that you want. It's not that obvious on the packet.

we use this product on all tiling jobs, and its absolutely fine. CHECK COLOUR on the bag first, or it may dry ' a different colour ' ; )
