Skirting board
It's a long plank of wood, rounded off at the top so it looks good it situ. Tips.: 1) It's a natrural product, complete with knots and they can be prone to warping. Choose your plank carefully. 2) Looks good painted or varnished. You will get a better finish if you undercoat/paint or varnish flat on the floor with a foam roller. Can be stuck to wall with any silicone, although for cheapness use grab adhesive.

Inconsistent sizing
All going well until I tried to cut and fix the last board - found that it was at least 2mm shorter in height than the other boards. No problem taking it back but it wasn't easy finding a replacement the right height.

It's great for money as it has a certain thickness , so stronger than other thinner boards .

Twisted cracked dry no good
Wood is seemingly always quite bad, warped, twisted, full of knots, go to a decent timber yard for wood, I know I will be in future

Bit of wood
Basically it was a bit of wood that was the right shape for the job we were doing. However we had to ask for a new pack to be opened as the ones ready for sale were all warped.
