Bought as a present as it was the closest product I could find to the original B&Q Water Butt Irrigation Kit which does not appear to be sold anymore. I have not opened it or used it but based on several old kits I purchased for my allotment. It costs twice as much as I paid 5 yeas ago. The package is a smaller, plain cardboard box so there is no picture example of how it should be used.

Appart from having no hosepipe included and half the number of drippers, the contents of the box (based on the web photos) appear to be almost identical. There is an additional part, the pressure regulation unit which appears to double up as the original manifold allowing several drips to be connected.

I have been using a very similar product for several years now with spectacular results. It is extremely good for making a small amount of water collected in a water butt go a long way preventing plants from drying out. You can add liquid fertiliser to the water in the butt too for constant rather than traditional weekly feeding. I modified cheap, B&Q 80 litre dustbins as the water source. It is also economic if you use metered water to fill the water butt during dry periods.

If it is made by the same company that made the version I am using the quality is very good, The value is not so good since I bought my version for £9 each about 5 years ago and had 16 droppers not 8 ! I just wish the old version was still available.

It is easy to use but before leaving it to go on holiday I would recommend checking the drippers daily as they occasionally block up and you have to take the pipe off and make sure that water is reaching the dripper.

Just brilliant, make sure you push home all the way to the collar on each connector or it will leak.

Bought as a gift to replace similar item so not used this personally - however this arrived in a cardboard box - very embarrassing handing it over as a gift - the previous kit he had which was identical came in a glossy box. I realise you don't buy it for the box but it looked like i'd paid £5 for it from the market.
